Frankfurt/Main airport is approximately 30 km north of Darmstadt.
And Darmstadt has a train station that is well connected in the German railway system.
The tournament location lies in the heart of Darmstadt and you can easily get near to it by bus or tram. From the stopping place it is less than 5 minutes walk.
I will give further information step by step on the cited thread in the German forum the following days.
But if you have any questions, always feel free to ask!
I'm interested but it's a nightmare to hit Darmstadt by train, it's like a 7h trip. By car it's 5h drive, I'll try to see if other people are interested but we definitely prefer Mannheim..I'll let you know

I can understand your feelings regarding the investment of time ... but it is hard to bear that you prefer another city before you have been there ... My main intention was to put the burden of organising a big event on some other shoulders than the usual ones ... and of course I am planning the tournament near my home (and in a favourable range for many German players)!
Oh, don't worry, I was quite sure about that ... I just wanted to point out that Darmstadt might be worth an even longer trip as to Mannheim ... all because I try my very best to "seduce" as many of you as I can to come and play the ECQ there!

Sorry for my late reply: It is a pity that you cannot make it on Saturday ... I fear that it would be for no good to change the days so close to the week-end ...
By the way: the draft on Sunday had to be cancelled.
So, maybe next time ... maybe I can come to the ECQ in Paris ...
